T-shirts are a major part of our lives. We wrap ourselves in them and call it comfort. They are cherished and saved even if they are stored in a box or in a drawer. The best way we have found to make use of those favorite T's is to make a quilt out of them. It preserves those “ I remember when” times. Christmas, Graduation, Birthdays and "In Memory" are just a few ways to celebrate ones life. A T-shirt quilt brings smiles to our faces and joy to our hearts. It is truly a captured memory.
We specialize in T-shirt quilts, and we are happy to offer three styles of quilts. The Modern Collage, Traditional and the Contemporary.
The Modern Collage is a quilt that needs more shirts. It utilizes all parts of the shirt such as pocket logo, sleeve logo and back. It has a 3 inch border and will be smaller than the Traditional style.
The Traditional style has a 2 inch sashing between each block and is finished with a 3 inch border.
Finally the Contemporary quilt is just like the Traditional but without sashing. It will also have a 3 inch border and be smaller than the Traditional just like the Modern Collage.
Here is how you can order a T-shirt quilt.
1. Visit my Etsy page
2. Select a style of quilt you like and click on it.
Then review the quilt information under item description. This will show you sizes, price list, shipping and other information.
3. Add to cart and check out.
4. Pay the 75.00 deposit fee. The deposit fee is a good faith payment and used for supplies for the quilt design that is being purchased. It will be deducted on the final bill.
5. Once you have checked out there will be a digital pdf download. This is a kit that will have an order form, mailing address, fabric color choices and other information you will find helpful in sending us your quilt.
What will you get?
You will receive a completely finished quilt made from your T shirts.
-- T shirts will be fused with feather weight stablizer.
-- The top will be created with your T shirts.
-- The quilt will be batted and backed.
-- The batting is 80/20 (80 percent cotton 20 percent poly).
-- The back will be 100 percent quilters cotton. (You will have a choice of colors for backing, border and binding).
--Your quilt will have three layers sandwich together. The binding will be sewn to the edge and wrapped around the raw edge of the quilt and then hand sewn to the back of the quilt.
